Beyschlag (-> Vishay) Company Overview
Beyschlag, founded in 1931, grew to become the leading European manufacturer of metal film resistors. Beyschlag innovations include cylindrical metal film SMD resistors (MELF resistors), Mini-MELF resistors, and thin film flat chip resistors. Beyschlag became part of Philips Components in 1974. Subsequently, in January 1999, BCcomponents (Beyschlag Centralab components) emerged from Philips Electronics as a leading manufacturer of passive electronic components.
BCcomponents was acquired by Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in December, 2002.
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. was founded in 1962 to manufacture and market foil resistors. The Company began operations with foil resistors and strain gages as its initial product offerings. In 1985, having grown from a start-up into the world's leading manufacturer of these original products, Vishay began an ongoing series of strategic acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronic components that provides "one-stop shop" service to customers. Today, Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components.
