Magnetek Company Overview
Magnetek was formed in 1984 through the acquisition of Litton Industries' Magnetics Group. During the 1980s, the Company acquired a number of electrical equipment manufacturing operations, and in 1991 joined forces with Plessey, Europe's largest independent producer of computer power supplies. During the 1990s, Magnetek divested its electrical equipment product lines in order to focus exclusively on digital power-electronics.
Today, Magnetek provides power-electronic products and digital-power-based systems for applications ranging from the Power Grid to the Internet. Magnetek's power products are used in data processing and data storage, telecom and datacom, medical and commercial imaging, semiconductor processing and testing, materials handling, people moving, smart appliances, distributed power generation and other applications requiring highly reliable, controllable, energy-efficient power.
