Amplifonix, now Spectrum Microwave, is a manufacturer of Hybrid, Bi-Polar and GaAs FET Low- to Medium-Power Amplifiers, PIN Diodes, GaAs FET Switches and Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) that operate in the frequency range of a few kHz to 3,000 MHz. The company was founded by Dr. Arthur Riben in 1980. The company's original charter was to be a second source to amplifier manufacturers in the low frequency spectrum, commonly called the IF or RF sections of a system. The product line now includes over 5,000 customer specified amplifiers, switches, and VCOs, which are modifications of standards or new exclusive designs for customer applications.
