UTMC Microelectronics - Aeroflex  Company Overview

In February, 1999, UTMC was acquired by the Aeroflex Corporation to form Aeroflex UTMC.

The company further diversified its product portfolio in 2000 with mixed-signal design, fabrication, assembly and test services from chip development through production. This business unit is now known as the Aeroflex Colorado Springs division of Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions. Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions is a leading designer and manufacturer of microelectronic and silicon solutions serving the aerospace, commercial, industrial, medical and commercial broadband communication markets.

United Technologies Microelectronics Corporation (UTMC) was established in 1980 as a captive supplier of custom and semicustom microelectronics to the United Technologies aerospace and defense divisions. In 1985, UTMC expanded to become a merchant-market supplier of semicustom and standard VLSI circuits to external high-reliability aerospace and defense companies.
