Compensated Devices, founded in 1974, is located in Melrose. CDI specializes in high-reliability diode, rectifier and Schottky products. CDI's proprietary high-temperature glass sealing process is considered to be the highest reliability manufacturing process available today. CDI is JAN-S certified and is MIL-S-19500 qualified to approximately 350 individual part numbers.

CDI was acquired by Microsemi in June, 2001.
