OCP was founded in 1991 and has its corporate headquarters located in Woodland Hills, California. Optical Communication Products, Inc. (OCP) is a leading designer and manufacturer of fiber-optic communication components and sub-systems. OCP supports Ethernet, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel and ESCON-based applications with a scalable platform of optical modules, including SFP, SFF and GBIC packages.

Optical Communication Products, Inc. was acquired by Oplink Communications in November, 2007.
