Working closely with industry leading customers in the Mobile & Desktop PC, Consumer Electronics & Infotainment, and Industrial & Embedded markets, SMSC develops semi-custom and application specific standard products (ASSPs) that allow users to access or transfer their digital assets with convenience and speed.

SMSC was acquired by Microchip Technology in August, 2012.
