Founded in 1978, The Western Design Center, Inc. is a pioneer in the design and licensing of low-cost, low-power microprocessor intellectual property (IP) cores for FPGA and ASIC development.

WDC provides the popular W65C02 8- and 16-bit microprocessor-microcontroller technology with a family of standard ICs and hard, soft and firm IP cores. Along with hardware and software development tools and consulting services, these products enable users to quickly build ASIC or FPGA based SoCs and embedded systems. WDC is the original source of the patented CMOS 65xx brand of microprocessor technology. WDC supplies Integrated Circuits (IC), Intellectual Property (IP) and the Terbium Integrated Development Environment (TerbiumIDE) with the supporting C and assembly language development tool suite. WDC RoHS/Green/PbFree ICs are available directly from WDC as well as through a worldwide network of representatives and distributors.
