In 1983, Zoran was established to develop and deliver DSP (digital signal processing) technologies. Zoran Corporation merged with CSR plc. in August 2011 to create a global leader in wireless connectivity, location-aware, imaging, video, and audio products.

CSR plc was formed in 1999 and floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004. It is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and has more than 3,000 employees working in over 35 offices worldwide.
