BCcomponents - Vishay  Company Overview

BCcomponents (Beyschlag Centralab components), a leading manufacturer of passive electronic components, emerged from Philips Electronics in January 1999. The company pursued development of several products that have become industry standards, such as SMD Mini-MELF resistors (now branded Vishay Beyschlag) and a range of aluminum capacitors with industry-leading temperature tolerances.

BCcomponents was acquired by Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in December 2002. The former BCcomponents product portfolio is now divided into Vishay Beyschlag and Vishay BCcomponents.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. was founded in 1962 to manufacture and market foil resistors. The Company began operations with foil resistors and strain gages as its initial product offerings. In 1985, having grown from a start-up into the world's leading manufacturer of these original products, Vishay began an ongoing series of strategic acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronic components that provides "one-stop shop" service to customers. Today, Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components.
