Emblaze Semiconductor - Zoran - CSR  Company Overview

Emblaze was founded as GEO Interactive Ltd. in 1994, an Israeli software company developing video delivery over wireless and fixed IP networks. In 1998, GEO changed its name to Emblaze. Emblaze Semiconductor is a fabless IC company that got its start with the acquisition of Zapex Research in 2001. The company manufactures semiconductor-based solutions for high volume mobile multimedia appliances in the telecommunication, consumer and security markets. Emblaze products have already been implemented in a wide range of custom-designed high volume mobile wireless information devices such as cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, and toys. Emblaze Semiconductor was acquired by Zoran Corporation in June, 2004. Zoran Corporation is a leading provider of digital solutions in the growing digital entertainment and digital imaging markets. In 1983, Zoran was established to develop and deliver DSP (digital signal processing) technologies. Today, Zoran's leading technologies combined with strong expertise in IC design, algorithm development and system integration allow Zoran to deliver complete solutions for OEMs producing innovative consumer electronics products. In August, 2011, Zoran Corp was acquired by British company CSR plc.
