Mepco - Philips - BCcomponents - Vishay  Company Overview

Mepco Products was acquired by Philips. In January, 1999, Philips spun off its passive components business as BCcomponents (Beyschlag Centralab Components), a combination of the product lines of Beyschlag, Philips, and Centralab. BCcomponents was acquired by Vishay Intertechnology in December, 2002. The former BCcomponents product portfolio is now divided into Vishay Beyschlag and Vishay BCcomponents. Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. was founded in 1962 to manufacture and market foil resistors. The Company began operations with foil resistors and strain gages as its initial product offerings. In 1985, having grown from a start-up into the world's leading manufacturer of these original products, Vishay began an ongoing series of strategic acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronic components that provides "one-stop shop" service to customers. Today, Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components.
