Monolithic Memories, Inc. (MMI) produced bipolar PROMs, programmable logic devices, and logic circuits (including 7400 series TTL). MMI invented Programmable Array Logic (PAL) devices.
MMI was eventually acquired by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), though AMD later spun off their programmable logic division as Vantis.
Vantis Corporation was acquired by Lattice Semiconductor in April, 1999.
Lattice Semiconductor Corporation designs, develops and markets high performance programmable logic products and related software. Programmable logic products are widely-used semiconductor components that can be configured by end customers as specific logic circuits, and thus enable shorter design cycle times and reduced development costs. Our end customers are primarily original equipment manufacturers in the communications, computing, industrial, automotive, medical, consumer and military end markets.
The types of products manufactured by Monolithic Memories - AMD - Vantis - Lattice include Programmable Logic Devices (PLD), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), Field Programmable System Chips (FPSC), Crossover Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD), In-System Programmable Logic Devices (SPLD), In-System Programmable Clocks (ispClock), Power Manager: Sequencing, Monitoring, Trimming & Measurement ICs, and Digital Interconnect Devices.
