Midcom purchased the assets of Nano Pulse Industries, Inc. in April 1998.

Midcom Inc. is one of the world's top producers of telecommunications transformers. Midcom's transformers are used globally in analog/digital telephone systems, modems, circuit management, networking, multiplexing, D4 channel banks, signaling, automatic call distribution, public data transmission (TV, FAX, MUX), electronic mail, bulletin board services, mobile communications, security systems and a wide variety of amplifiers and recorders for the sound system market.

Midcom also works in voice frequency, high speed data for modems (CCITT), T1, ISDN, CEPT, BABT, LAN and any other area applicable to their products.

In January, 2007, Midcom was acquired by Wurth Elektronik.

The Wurth Elektronik Group includes five business units: printed circuit boards, intelligent connecting systems, magnetics with a focus on inductors, power electronics for telecom and automotive applications, and Europe's most modern production line of solar modules and photovoltaics.
